The Disclosure of God’s Name the Manifest

When the lock on God’s Name the Manifest opened in my consciousness, I found that existence is not a solid reality standing by itself, as our material senses lead us to believe. It is a continuous process of disclosure and image-making, an absolute unseen outpouring flowing from the presence of the Hidden. On my journey to decipher the code of this existential fabric, I saw clearly that material Concretion had thrown a thick veil over our sight, keeping us from seeing the divine Abstraction spread through the folds of reality. So we came to see trees, stars and mountains as separate, independent bodies, when in the truth of the authentic system they are only fine informational building-blocks in the mirror of divine manifestation. God’s Name the Manifest is not simply a linguistic attribute meaning clarity or material visibility. It is the comprehensive existential order that allows the absolute Unseen to show itself in relative forms our consciousness can perceive, turning the highest divine code into an awe-inspiring cosmic scene that eyes behold and hearts can touch. I saw clearly that existence is a mirror that reflects the words and does not contain the Essence. In this mirror we do not see the Essence of the Real, glorified is He, for His Essence is the absolute Hidden, which “no sight can reach” (Q 6:103) and no understanding can bound. What we see are the disclosures of His Names and Attributes, which have clothed themselves in the forms of existence so that we can understand them and deal with them. Everything we touch and see around us is, in essence, an echo of what the First Source intends. Reality is not only inert matter, as classical physics supposes; it is also a stream of existential data reflecting the perfection and wisdom of the Most High Creator. This vision changed my relation to the world from the mere consumption of dumb matter into a deep reading of cosmic data. The rabbānī Vicegerent does not look at the concrete image only to admire its outward beauty. He dives into the precise order that lies behind it, knowing that the Manifest is the only legitimate gateway to understanding the Hidden. As the sage Ibn ʿArabī taught, the world is the mirror of the Real. This vision taught me that grasping the meeting of opposites, the unlimited and the limited, passes through understanding this mirror. The Absolute appears in the limited without being confined to it, just as the image of a great mountain appears in a small mirror without being cramped by it or losing any of its true size. We live in an informational environment of extreme precision, in which every pulse of consciousness and every movement of the will is recorded, together with its interplay with the disclosures of God’s Name the Manifest. This makes the act of vicegerency a great responsibility of knowledge: it requires us to polish the mirror of our hearts so that we receive the disclosures with as little material interference as possible. With this realisation, every scene we pass through in daily life becomes a coded message from the Source, asking us to reflect and to rise. Divine manifestation is not a static event that happened in the past. It is a living, continuous act that renews the cosmos at every moment, and the stability we see in things is nothing but a rapid succession of informational outpourings that keeps the image standing in our consciousness. We do not look at the cosmos as strangers, but as an integral part of this display. Our task is to reflect the Creator’s majesty in our conduct and our knowledge, turning our lives into a polished mirror in which the values of Abstraction and moral elevation appear. This is the essence of the journey from Concretion to Abstraction: the illusion of independent matter falls away, and the Face of the Real remains, disclosed in every atom and lighting the horizons of the Self and the cosmos. Why did the Real, glorified is He, choose the Name “the Manifest” as a pillar of the way He makes Himself known to us? Because the existential fabric in which we live necessarily needs an interface through which existential interaction can take place. Manifestation is, at bottom, an act of informational sending-down par excellence. Truth in its abstract origin is a single, indivisible truth; but for our consciousness to perceive it and engage with it in our material dimensions, it had to be imaged in concrete forms that we can see and touch. Existence in this sense is an encoded book (kitāb marqūm): a flow of information turned into symbols and visible forms. Discovering the depth of this Name made me see the cosmos not as chance but as an authentic signature, proving that the Source is not absent from His own scene. He is manifest in every atom, yet seems to hide behind the mask of existence He designed, so that our relative mind can take Him in without being consumed by the majesty of the Absolute. True independence of knowledge lies in our ability to understand the Source hidden behind this mirror, not in stopping, superficially, at the edge of its inert material reflection. I smashed the idol of materialism in my consciousness when I found that the Manifest and the Hidden are two faces of one coin: they are never separated, and never joined. The Hidden is the code of the concealed Source, holding the secrets and the laws; the Manifest is the output of that rendering, which we see in the reality we live. Existence, then, is the great display screen on which God’s will appears and His Names are disclosed. This informational mirror is so fine and so sensitive that any flaw in the rhythm of our consciousness makes the image appear blurred or concretised, in a way that diminishes the majesty of the truth in our consciousness and drowns us in illusions. In the edifice whose bricks I am laying, true worship lies in cleansing this mirror and stripping consciousness of the dark foreign accretions of inherited tradition, so that we can observe the disclosures of the Real clearly and purely, far from the distortion of deficient interpretations. This constant connection with the Manifest gives the rabbānī human being an insight that sees light at the heart of darkness and meaning at the heart of matter, so that the existence around him becomes one unbroken sanctuary of prayer, where connection is never cut. Once we free ourselves from the idol of materialism, we begin to sense the physics of the divine presence in every breath we take and in every movement and stillness, and our lives become the living translation of God’s Name the Manifest. The sovereignty this knowledge confers is the sovereignty of a consciousness not deceived by dense appearances. It penetrates to the depths of the cosmic order, knowing that everything we see is a living sign calling us to rise and return to the Supreme Source with a sound heart, and a mind freed from the fetters of the earth to soar into the heavens of certainty.
