The Philosophy of Concretion and Abstraction — Volume One: The Foundational Introduction
From Restoring the Past to an Independent Consciousness

You whose heart is searching, as mine is, for the truth: my purpose in telling this story is not to put a personal experience on display. It is to place in your hands the method of verification that I forged in the furnace of struggle and inquiry, and later used to dismantle the idols of Concretion that had sat so long upon our chests. The manuscript, in my view, is the original statement, pure, before the dust of sectarian interpretation settled on it and before the illusions of human conflict weighed it down. I learned to remove that dust with great care — not out of hostility to the tradition, but as a researcher looking for quality, for the pure essence that had been lost in the crowd.
Sheikh al-Albānī, may God have mercy on him, laboured tirelessly to restore the old house and clear it of whatever did not belong. Those manuscripts, however, with their deep symbolism, suggested to me the need to found an entirely new human being: one grounded in the height of Abstraction and in the rejection of every form of sanctifying human beings or concretised ideas. I invite you today, from your own unique place as a human being, not to accept pre-packaged truths presented to you as axioms. Become a skilled observer of yourself: take apart the tools of your consciousness and examine the first foundations of your primordial nature, which indoctrination has not yet erased.
Always remember that truth does not lie in what was said, in its rigid letters, but in the universal purpose for which it was said. It was from this essential point that I began to reset the counters of indoctrination within myself, so that I could devote myself entirely to laying the first bricks of the final edifice: the human being as rabbānī vicegerent, who moves with the majesty of mastery and the grandeur of certainty, and does not waste his life on particulars of Concretion that serve no purpose and build no civilisation. We are not restoring walls that have collapsed. We are opening horizons for a spirit created to sail through the Dominion with an abstract consciousness and an independent strength that does not break.
