Reflecting on this text revealed to me the truth of the existential stratification that governs the fabric of creation. It is settled in my certainty that existence sown in God is not confined to the narrow dimension in which we move. The worlds that lie beyond the ceiling of our limited senses operate by laws of absolute speed and complete immediacy, beyond the reach of our dense sensory perception. I saw clearly that what our deficient language calls “the unseen” is not unseen in itself. It is only a witnessing deferred, awaiting whoever has raised the rhythm of his knowledge and managed to bring his consciousness into balance with the rhythm of truth. Existential independence requires a dimensional consciousness that frees a person from the belief that he is alone in this vast cosmos, so that he realises he is part of an immense system of worlds of light and of powers that manage the codes of existence behind the dense material curtain. I broke the illusion of human centrality within myself when I understood that we are neither the end of creation nor its material summit. We are the beginning of consciousness within the system of earthly density, and there are worlds unknown to us that are the true fields from which commands and laws issue into this world of ours. Elevation in knowledge thus moves us from the role of spectator of tangible material outputs to the role of the rabbānī Vicegerent, who strives earnestly to understand the laws that govern what lies behind the veil. This discovery made me treat His words “And He creates what you do not know” as a permanent starting point and a restless spur to scientific and philosophical inquiry. Every time we open a new door into the secrets of physics or lift a veil from the hidden recesses of the Self, I have found that we are only opening a concealed file that lay in the circle of “what we do not know”, waiting for a mind that would strip away its fetters, see it, and so come to know. My journey of discovering existence sown in God has arrived here at the platform of wonder before the Lord. Wonder, in this system, is not the confusion of the floundering ignorant; it is the awe of the careful researcher before the grandeur of the edifice and the precision of its making. Breaking out of the narrow prisons of sectarianism was necessary in order to take in this cosmic vastness. The sects place human fetters even on the horizons of divine creation, while authentic Abstraction flings the doors wide open before the Absolute, whom no limit bounds. I have understood that the final vision and the great goal is not the sight of passing material things, but the witnessing of the Agent’s greatness in the variety and interconnection of all that He does. Independent consciousness lives on the earth with its feet in the clay, while the Heart of the Higher Self soars with certainty through those worlds not yet discovered. We are in a state of continual Ascensional Evolution, rising from knowledge of what we see to certainty of what we do not see, and so breaking through the narrow limits of vision that the philosopher Schopenhauer took to be the limits of the world for limited man. In this system, by contrast, I see the limits of man’s vision as the Absolute itself, and what he does not know as the living fuel that feeds his journey towards perfection of knowledge. His words, glorified is He, “And He creates what you do not know” are the guarantee that the journey will never end, and that the formative ladder of existence stretches into an infinity of disclosures, where mastery lies in acknowledging the limits of the human senses in order to draw strength from the limitlessness of the All-Embracing God. From here it becomes clear that this great unseen is neither separate from us nor far from our reality. It surrounds us as light surrounds shadow, and waits for us to keep the covenant and shed the burdens of matter, so that we may see what was hidden beneath the cloak of density, and so that it may open the horizons of consciousness onto disclosures that never cease.
