The Covenant of a New Consciousness

With this we close this chapter of my life. It was never simply academic research; it was an existential struggle to recover sovereignty in knowledge. I mixed with everyone, and learned that no one holds the whole truth while he remains a prisoner of a sectarian mould. I saw how the guardians of inherited tradition lean on the crutch of reason when the text fails them, and how they terrify people with the sword of apostasy to keep their hold on the herd. But I came out of that sectarian forest with an independent consciousness, believing that God is the direct Source for every heart that has emptied itself of all that is other than Him. The journey from the narrowness of linguistic exegesis to the breadth of cosmic law is the story of the birth of the rabbānī human being, who does not bow before the sectarian idol. My consciousness broke out from beneath the rubble of indoctrination to declare that independence is the highest decision, and that connection with the Source is the Firmest Bond. We do not read the truth through the eyes of the dead. We connect with the Living who does not die, holding to the original covenant of innate nature, untouched by any taint of anthropomorphism. The edifice of consciousness now stands complete enough to say to every seeker of light: knowledge is your ladder, Abstraction your homeland, and honesty your companion. From this point we shall set out to raise the edifice on the foundations of existential truths that do not pass away — an edifice in which the human being exercises his sovereignty in God’s Dominion, devoting his religion to Him alone, far from the wanderings of the centuries and the feuds of the sects, which have left humanity nothing but dispersion and loss. What I offer here is not merely an opinion. It is the outcome of a close examination of every formation of thought that has risen and then passed away. Today we lay the first brick of a future in which human beings see their Lord with the insight of transcendence and walk upon His earth with the strength of vicegerency, achieving inner peace and cosmic harmony in their most beautiful forms. The age of guardianship is over, and the age of disclosure has begun: the Spirit is in its homeland, the heart at rest, and consciousness on the highest rungs of Abstraction, watching for the light of a dawn that never fades and receiving the outpouring of mercy that fills the horizons of existence with all its splendour and purity.
