The Philosophy of Concretion and Abstraction — Volume One: The Foundational Introduction
From the Preparatory Stage to the Final Edifice

For me, Shahrur represented a preparatory stage in the project of complete liberation. I saw the stumbles in his method that came from confining the text within the meanings of traditional language, and I learned from them how to fortify my own system by moving from language to law. I watched the collective order try to bury his thought through exclusion, but I found that the spark of truth he had struck had already taken root in minds that refuse guardianship.
That scene confirmed for me beyond doubt that the independent heart — the intellect — is stronger than every instrument of material control. If Shahrur shook the pillars with the word, the method of Abstraction and the study of universal laws will prepare the way for the mental idols to be brought down by certain knowledge, knowledge that cannot be divided among sects, factions or groups. Today I do not stop at criticising history. I am trying to help lay a brick in the edifice that can hold the truth, bringing the text and the cosmos into unity.
