Accompanying the Sheikh on his tireless scholarly journeys to towns across Jordan, sitting quietly in the back seat of his car, I spent long hours in deep attunement with a mind that worked with the exacting precision of a machine — the precision of a skilled watchmaker, which was the craft Sheikh al-Albānī, may God have mercy on him, had practised. I realised that he had not left his first trade behind him. He had carried the philosophy of mechanical precision from the world of cogs and metal into the philosophy of hadith and the world of transmitted reports. He hunted for flaws in a chain of narration as though under a microscope, never letting a broken cog or a loose screw in the machinery of historical transmission escape him. It was this rigorous logic that I later turned to building this philosophy. If repairing a single report required such exacting engineering and such exhausting effort, what would it take to repair human consciousness and restore the human Self? Those manuscripts and journeys were a silent teacher. They told me that behind every report — each one a material Concretion bound to particular people — lies a universal method of Abstraction: the law that governs the soundness of existence. I learned that to be preoccupied with persons, the concrete, while neglecting the governing laws, the abstract, is to be lost in a maze. In the science of hadith the narrator is a cog in the watch of knowledge; his value lies in how well he conforms to the universal law of truthfulness and accuracy, not in his personal identity. From there I began to see human consciousness as a system that needs precise calibration to return to its original primordial station, free of the distortions left by the rubble of history. The philosophy that was born from this precision holds that the repair of consciousness begins with examining our laws of perception: how do we understand, and how do we analyse the data that come to us from the Lord and from the cosmos? I moved the watchmaker’s lens from the hands of the clock to the engines of certainty in the heart. True sovereignty requires us to be engineers of our own selves, able to tell the authentic voice of revelation from the noise that human Concretion has generated over the centuries. We must recover the Abstraction of the highest divine laws from their lower material fetters, so that the watch of our consciousness keeps time in perfect harmony with the pulse of the Dominion, and so achieve the fullest connection with the Source whose Balance never errs.
